What is SkyDancing Tantra?
SkyDancing Tantra finds its origin in Puna, where Osho entrusted his young sannyasin, Margot Anand, in the late sixties with the mission of bringing Tantra to the West. The SkyDancing International Institute has become today one of the oldest and most respected Tantra Schools worldwide.
SkyDancing Tantra is a holistic spiritual practice that combines elements of ancient Tantra, meditation, yoga, and modern psychology. SkyDancing Tantra aims to help individuals awaken and expand their consciousness, deepen their connection to their bodies and emotions, and cultivate more profound relationships with themselves and others.
At its core, SkyDancing Tantra is rooted in the traditional Tantric teachings from India and Tibet, which emphasize the union of opposites, the divine nature of the individual, and the transformative power of sexual energy. However, SkyDancing Tantra also incorporates modern techniques from Western psychology, bodywork, and personal growth, creating an accessible and practical approach to spiritual development.
Program outline
The purpose of this workshop is to gradually approach one of the central practices Tantra Yoga: THE YAB-YUM
Using breathwork, bodywork, visualizations, and meditation we wish to guide participants towards a more profound connection with the inner blissful energy flow that moves through their spine and permeates their entire body. We shall explore the Inner Flute, also known as the Central Channel. We will explore the chakra maps and how they can be used to connect with one's subtle energy body. We will practice the Tantric Yoga approach to sharing these inner energies with a partner. The practice and inner attitude of Latihan, which can be described as 'spontaneous or divine movement,' will serve as the central theme throughout the workshop.
We are committed to cultivating awareness and respect for each individual's boundaries and fostering consent. Our main practices will be supported by periods of sharing, dancing and massage, creating a well-rounded and nurturing experience for all participants.
Practices
Cultivating consent and awareness of our boundaries: In this activity, participants learn the importance of clear communication, mutual consent, and respecting personal boundaries within the context of partnered exercises.
Visualization of chakras: Participants engage in guided visualization exercises. This practice helps to develop a deeper understanding of the proposed chakra system.
Liberating the body and mind armouring system: The MLC© method is a mind-body work designed to release physical and emotional tensions stored in the body's chronic tensions. In this practice, participants perform specific movements and stretches that target the layers of tension, leading to greater freedom, flexibility, and overall well-being.
Connecting the breath in pairs: Partners practice synchronized breathing. This exercise fosters a deeper connection between partners, harmonizes their energy, and encourages a shared sense of presence that prepares them for the practice of the Yab-Yum.
Approaching your partner chakra by chakra: In this practice, partners take turns focusing on each other's chakras. This allows each partner to become attuned to the other's energy centers.
The Inner Flute: This practice focuses on activating and channeling the flow of energy along the Central Channel or the Inner Flute, which runs through the spine. Participants engage in breathwork, visualization, and body-awareness exercises to awaken this vital energy pathway and promote a deeper connection with their subtle energy body.
The Yab-Yum: The Yab-Yum is a traditional Tantric posture where one partner sits on the lap of the other, with their legs wrapped around each other. This practice fosters a deep sense of intimacy and connection, allowing partners to harmonize their energies and experience the union of masculine and feminine aspects within themselves and each other.
The Lathian: This practice involves spontaneous, free-flowing movement and expression, allowing participants to connect with their inner wisdom and intuition. Participants are encouraged to move and dance without preconceived notions or judgments, tapping into the divine spontaneous essence within themselves.
Spaces of sharing, dancing and massage: Throughout the workshop, participants engage in group sharing circles, dance sessions, and partnered massage exercises. These activities provide: opportunities for self-expression, emotional release, and deep relaxation, creating a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for personal growth and transformation.
